STIGA Evolution: my first upgrade and the wear I noticed
Original source: 2020-11-11 · Alfonso Quinonez
I reviewed the Evolution as a beginner after about 80-90 hours of frequent play. It felt like a useful step up from my generic paddle, but the video also explains why I bought a second one.
Why I chose a premade paddle
Choosing a blade and separate rubbers felt overwhelming when I was starting. The Evolution let me begin playing with a complete racket. Compared with my generic paddle, I found it lighter and easier to generate useful speed without forcing every shot.

After intensive use, I felt less grip and became less consistent. I bought another Evolution for that reason. My estimated 80-90 hours are one owner’s experience, not a rated service life or a rule that every paddle needs replacement after that time.

The new and old paddles looked similar in my simple bounce and tackiness demonstrations even though they felt different to me. That matters: I cannot use those tests to prove exactly what caused the change in my game. I would consider it a practical starting option, with care and eventual rubber wear included in the decision.
